The Mechanists

SOLD - Facel 6 - Facel Vega 1964 Exceptional condition

Facel Vega: a brand synonymous with timeless elegance and exquisite craftsmanship. Founded in 1939, Facel (Forges et Ateliers de Construction d'Eure-et-Loir) blended a passion for engineering and luxury, fusing the best of French technology with refined aesthetics.

The present Facel 6 embodies a rare piece of French automotive history. Dating back to 1964, it stands among the last examples of its series. Chassis A210 tells the story of a car that embarked on a transatlantic journey aboard the "Le France" ocean liner, destined for the United States, with the initial intention of fitting a Chrysler V8 engine. However, this transformation never happened, preserving the authenticity of its original powertrain – a 6-cylinder inline engine from the Austin-Healey 3000.

Purchased by a doctor in 1971 and used with care, the car later spent many years stored at a garage. Today, it presents itself in impeccable condition for classic car enthusiasts, benefiting from meticulous restoration while retaining its original configuration.

Adorned in an exterior hue of Bleu Facel Irisé matched with a black leather interior, this car showcases a harmonious blend of aesthetics and character. Outstanding documentation and history attest to its heritage. Complete with its maintenance booklet, period warranty, comprehensive technical review, and a certificate of sale from the previous two owners, this Facel Vega 6 exudes authenticity, mirroring its original interior. Invoices and photos trace its meticulous restoration, overseen by a vigilant expert. Evaluated at €138,000 in November 2021, this rare car presents an exceptional opportunity.

With only 44 units produced (including 36 coupés, 7 cabriolets, and 1 2+2 coupé), this car was born under the collector's banner.
